R12’s MOST COMPETITIVE LGUs FOR 2013 GIVEN RECOGNITION

     The Regional Competitiveness Coordinating Committee (RC3) of Region 12 gave recognition to the region’s various Local Government Units (LGUs) -- cities and municipalities alike -- which have ranked in the National Competitiveness Council's (NCC) 2013 Philippine Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index. 

     The awarding ceremony was conducted during the Regional Development Council (RDC) 12 meeting last November 28, 2013 in Koronadal City. Included in the ceremony were the presentation of the result of the 2013 Philippine Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index; and the  presentation of Plaques and Certificates of Recognition to the different R12 Cities and Municipalities which have ranked in the Top 50 Philippine Competitive Cities and Municipalities for 2013. 

     This ceremony was a  tribute to the LGUs which have participated in the said survey, in recognition of their efforts to improve their delivery of services and in bringing about a more business-friendly environment in their respective areas.

Following were the LGUs given recognition:

For the cities:

LGU-Koronadal City

PLAQUE:  6th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:  2nd in the Top 10 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines in Economic Dynamism


LGU-General Santos City

PLAQUE:  12th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     - 6th in the Top 10 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines in Economic Dynamism

     - 10th in the “Most Number of Hotel Rooms” in the Philippines

     - 15th in the “Fastest Travel Time to Seaport” in the Philippines


LGU-Kidapawan

PLAQUE:  16th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     - 10th in the Top 10 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines in Economic Dynamism

     -  6th in the “Least Number of Steps for Construction Permits” in the Philippines


LGU-Tacurong

PLAQUE:   22nd in the Top 50 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     - 8th in the “Least Number of Steps for Renewal Business Registration” in the Philippines


LGU-Cotabato

PLAQUE: 31st in the Top 50 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     - 13th in the “Fastest Travel Time to Airport” in the Philippines


For the municipalities:

LGU-Surallah

PLAQUE:  8th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Municipalities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     -  9th in the Top 10 Most Competitive Municipalities in the Philippines in Economic Dynamism

     -  6th in the “Least Number of Steps for New Business Registration” in the Philippines

     -  6th in the “Least Number of Steps for Construction Permits” in the Philippines

     -  8th in the “Least Number of Steps for  Renewal  Business Registration” in the Philippines

     -  18th in the “Most Number of Cell Sites” in the Philippines


LGU-Isulan

PLAQUE:   18th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Municipalities in the Philippines

CERTIFICATE:

     -  10th in the Top 10 Most Competitive Cities in the Philippines in Economic Dynamism

     -  6th in the “Least Number of Steps for Construction Permits” in the Philippines

    -   9th in the “Highest Ratio of Hospital Beds” in the Philippines


LGU-Polomolok

PLAQUE:   32nd in the Top 50 Most Competitive Municipalities in the Philippines


LGU-T’boli

PLAQUE: 36th in the Top 50 Most Competitive Municipalities in the Philippines


LGU-Malungon

CERTIFICATE:

     - 6th in the “Least Number of Steps for  New Business Registration” in the Philippines

     - 8th in the “Least Number of Steps for Renewal  Business Registration” in the Philippines
