SMILE Conducts BB-SB Biz Matching, Forum and Reverse Fair

In celebration of the 12th Yaman GenSan, the Department of Trade and Industry NERBAC 12 in cooperation with the GSC SMEDCI, PhilExport 12 and GSC-CCI will conduct the Big Brother and Small Brother Business Matching cum Forum and Reverse Fair on July 22, 2014 at 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to be held at Hall 2 SM General Santos City. With the theme “SMILE: Forging Ties thru CSR” the  objective of the activity is to generate trade and  investment leads by matching the requirements of large companies with local suppliers - micro and small entrepreneurs referred to as “Small Brothers”, providing SMEs the opportunity to  do business with large companies, referred to as the “Big Brothers”.


Said activity has 3 components, namely: (1) Business Opportunity Seminar (BOS), a plenary session which will feature the business opportunities of large companies in the region specifically, the raw materials/supply requirements that they need in large quantities currently sourced outside the region;  (2) Reverse Fair, an exhibit of the different supply/raw material requirements of large companies enrolled in the SMILE Program that will be showcased per product group (crops, fruits and vegetables, etc.); and (3) Business Matching, a venue where suppliers can meet face to face with the buyers.

 

There will also be 2 other activity sub-components, namely: (1) the launching of the SOCCSKSARGEN Compendium of Project Briefs, which is a compilation of business opportunities that have ready markets in Region 12; and, (2) the Launching of Corporate Giveaways, which features locally-produced products as possible company giveaways instead of products sourced from outside of the region. Expected participants to the 1-day event include existing enterprises to include small, medium and large Companies, farmer-producers and consolidators, as well as potential industry stakeholders.
