SMILE Program BOS cum Business Matching Generates PhP1.4M in Actualized Sales

The Supply Management thru Investments for Large Enterprises Program (SMILE) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC) 12, through its conduct of Business Opportunity Seminars (BOS) cum Business Matching Activities regionwide has generated a total of PhP1.4 Million worth of actualized sales.

Said actualized sales are between Alsons Aquaculture Corporation (AAC) and Philippine Trade Center, Inc (PTCI). AAC, a company exporting processed milkfish and other species, and which has an in-house feedmill, has identified corn gluten, a by-product of cornstarch processing, as one of its major supply requirements. PTCI on the other hand, is a a cornstarch processor located in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Province. Through the BOS cum Business Matching activities conducted by DTI NERBAC 12, both companies were able to meet and discuss the details of supplying corn gluten. As a result, PTCI was able to initially deliver 650 bags of corn gluten to AAC, equivalent to 33 Metric Tons worth PhP990,000  last May 29, 2013.

On the other hand, out of the BOS held in General Santos City last March 19, 2013, Limbros Hardware was able to supply automotive and motor parts to Sarangani Agricultural Company Inc., and Alsons Aquaculture Corporation amounting to PhP500,000. The BOS held in South Cotabato also generated PhP20,000 in actualized sales from Goodwill Cooperative’s delivery of banana chips to Tateh Premium Feeds, Inc. (June 11, 2013)
